My second email this month? That’s so weird. I thought I said this newsletter was going to be monthly … ?
It was. Because I thought that’s all that I could handle. And then I realized — in part based on my conveyor belt analogy from my last newsletter — that I need to be sending MORE emails. Not too many more, because I don’t want to overwhelm you or overwork myself, but let’s be real: Once-a-month emails get forgotten.
Maybe you saw it pop up, said you’d read it later, and then deleted it after two weeks in an inbox purge.
Or maybe you did read it — the whole thing — and archived it with the intent of reaching out for a consult or a question or whatever … but you needed a reminder, and that reminder never came, and then a month had passed, and now you have other priorities.
So I’m moving to emails every other week. Partially so I stay on your social media and email conveyor belt, partially because I have too much news to share for a single monthly email, and partially because one of my goals this year was to find a new rhythm that makes sense for me, and this is what makes sense.
So thanks again for being here, for bearing with me through the ebbs and flows, and for reading all of my unhinged ADHD thoughts. You’re a real one, Reader! 🧡

🎮 Threads has only had DMs for like 6 months, but they’re already trying to find ways to make people use them. Enter: In-message games.
🔗 Instagram is now allowing you to include links in your reels! You have to do it through the Edits app, but y’all should be using that anyway because it’s far superior to CapCut or Instagram’s native video editor.
📱 Instagram is also allowing users to curate their own algorithms in 2026. What do you want to see more of? What do you want to see LESS of? (You can’t say “ads,” unfortunately.)

📚 To read: I just started The Reformatory by Tananarive Due. The description makes me think it will be The Nickel Boys meets Sing, Unburied, Sing, maybe with a touch of Sinners, too? I’m excited to dig in.
📺 To watch: Football, I guess?? This is deeply out of character for me as a baseball girly, but I actually had the urge to watch the Seahawks game on Saturday … and then they won. The next game? On my birthday 🙃 I’ll be missing the first part of it, but I feel like I need to at least catch the second half so I can celebrate with my city.
🎧 To listen: I’m still on my Billie Eilish kick! This week it’s her debut album, WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? My kids aren’t complaining as much about this one being on repeat because they recognize some of the songs (namely bad guy) from other media they enjoy. A win is a win, right?
🍜 To eat: Costco had kimbap last time I visited, and I have just been gorging myself on this delicious combo of hot seaweed / rice / tofu / veggies 😍
🚶🏻♀️To do: The world has been very heavy this week, and my history degreed, neurodivergent brain is seeing lots of patterns and activity that I don’t like. My solution? Naps. Granted, I always love a nap, but especially in times of high stress and turmoil? NAP. I could write a whole dissertation on why rest is so important, but instead, I’ll just refer you to Tricia Hersey’s incredible work on the topic!
